Woodwind
Woodwind instruments are played by blowing air past a reed or across a tone hole, just like 'playing' an empty milk bottle!
The woodwind family includes clarinet, saxophone, flute, oboe, bassoon, recorder, and folk whistle.
Students can learn the recorder and whistle from age six, plus the flute and clarinet from age seven. These all help to develop the principles and fingering used throughout the woodwind family.
