Piano and keyboard

Students can start piano and keyboard lessons from year two or sometimes year one. Lessons often take place at a keyboard due to their portability in schools.

Piano technique comes first - students learn to read music (treble and bass clef) - with the option of moving to a keyboard (chord-based) approach later on.
